Safari Expo and Safari Edventure Offer Opportunities for Students
Over 900 students visit Rolling Hills Zoo.

SHESC hosted its annual Safari Expo on September 27th at Rolling Hills Zoo. The event is an opportunity for students in eighth through twelfth grades to learn more about careers that involve science. Nearly 400 students from across Kansas attended the event.
Twenty-three presenters shared information and answered student questions at various learning stations throughout the zoo. Careers ranging from the aircraft industry to zoology were represented. Whether it was operating a construction simulator, examining artifacts, or identifying medical specimens, students had the opportunity to actively participate in various sessions.
Throughout the day, students visited numerous stations to learned about topics such as the environment, animals, health care, and geography to name a few. Representatives from area colleges as well as museums, businesses, and governmental agencies created learning activities for students. In all there were more than forty topics addressed.
